Climate Control Repair

Well.. like most CRX owners, my climate control is busted. Here is my attempt at making it look better.

What it looked like before I started.

Gotta take this out to get it out.

As you can see in the pic, the left side is all jacked up.

These are my tools

Yea, it was cracked bad. I first put that adhesive in all the cracks and let it dry.

Used tape over cracks so glue wouldn't run through the front.

I covered the back section in that glue, in an attempt to get it to hold

The drying process

Well.. it didn't turn out that great, but it holds a lot better than its previous state.

In conclusion, when purchasing a CRX look for an unbroken climate control and you will save a lot of hassle. If you do have one... you are a luck son-of-a-bitch.

Night Shots

I'm coming to an end of the pictures I have so far. It's almost time to start talking about my build, but first... some more night shots.

I went to AutoZone about 4 months ago, and i saw these fog lights. Ive always wanted fogs, but i would want the yellow JDM ones. Like hell I'm going to spend 200's on fog lights that someone could steal off my car in 2 minutes. These were only 18 bucks, and I got some cash back from selling my school books back to the school.

I head over to Matt's house and we start cutting up my bumper. Dont worry, I got this bumper for free from him. It is an 90-91 bumper, and im going back to a 88-89 for looks, and the fact I hate that the trim isn't the same.

Here is some pictures from the install:

If you noticed my rims changed... good eye! My old rims hated me and the driver's side valve stem was leaking. Couldn't keep air in it and didn't have the time to deal with it, so I traded Kyle for his 90 CRX DX stock ones. They worked for the time being. But now I've moved on to better rims.....

Thats right... some BMW bottle caps. I love the way they look, and how I got all 4 of them for $45. Then i just needed to get rubber on them and get them balanced. I plan on soda blasting them and painting the centers black.

More Garage Pics

Couple months later I went out with my friend Alex (3rd gen RX-7) and Frazier (89 CRX SI). The last photo was when I went out with Cole and Conor.

Random Summer Shots

After getting home, I couldn't wait to take the car out and get some photos! here are some from that night.

Next we have the first Honda meet I went on. It was a drive up bogus basin road and then off to a place in downtown to take some photos.

I got bored one afternoon and decided to take some shots at the BSU parking garage. I used photoshop on a couple of these pics to make my car look a little better.

Only a few things put on it at this point. Ebay intake, ebay short shifter, my stereo system (Alpine deck, crappy sound storm amp, and 2 10' Infinity subs) and a power inverter for the laptop.

Trip Back

Here is some pics of when i went to my dad's place to go pick it up. All i saw before was the pictures he sent me (the ones in the last post).

The first sight

Before we could get out of town and go home, we had issues with the car. It kept sputtering and not starting for 15 or so minutes. Then it threw some codes (CEL 7, Throttle Positioning Sensor). We went to some part store and changed out some of the parts off the dizzy, but it was only a temp fix. The codes and sputtering came back. My dad happened to know a guy in town that had another d15 motor and we went there and bought his throttle body off it. The sputtering stopped, but we still threw the code.

Driving to Vancouver with bcool.

On our way back to boise

Kept throwing codes (CEL 7). Found out it tops out at 111mph too!

The Oregon rain got to it.

I finally had my dream car. I've wanted one since i was 6. When my parents got divorced, my dad got a 1st gen CRX and it always reminded me of him. It was fun when he came and picked me up in it and drove around fast. Since then I have always wanted one.

here was his CRX:

More pics in the near future!

Hello!

Hey, this is spastik and you are viewing my build blog for my 1988 Honda CRX DX.

lets first start out with some photos of when i first saw her. i'll slowly put up more pictures and things done to her.

My dad got this car from a co-worker's friend. It was left on his property by a kid that drove out there, got out of the car and killed himself. The guy just wanted it off his property and my dad got it for around $600. I found out that he had a CRX and I sold my 1990 Mazda Protege to buy it.
